ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of massage on the upper back area (thoracic region) for treating neck pain. Neck pain is a common issue, especially in people living in industrialized countries, and while various therapies exist, this study aims to find out if adding massage to the treatment can help improve pain relief. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive both the usual neck treatment and the massage, while the other group will only receive the usual neck treatment.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be experiencing neck pain that has lasted more than three months, with a pain level of 4 to 7 on a scale from 0 to 10. However, people with certain conditions, like recent whiplash injuries, upper extremity pain, or specific diagnoses such as herniated discs or fibromyalgia, cannot participate. Those who join the trial can expect to receive either the combined treatment or just the standard treatment and will help contribute to understanding how effective massage can be for neck pain.
