ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how resistance exercise training (RET) affects muscle strength and growth in children, adolescents, and adults. Researchers want to understand if doing strength training can lead to an increase in muscle size and how well the body uses protein to build muscle after exercising. They will use a special non-invasive breath test to measure this, which means participants won’t need any painful procedures like muscle biopsies.
To participate in the trial, you need to be healthy and not have any injuries that would stop you from doing resistance exercises. Some conditions, like diabetes, heart problems, or certain joint issues, may prevent you from joining. If you take medications that could affect muscle function, or have had recent injuries, you may also be excluded. If eligible, participants will engage in resistance exercise and provide breath samples to help researchers learn more about muscle growth from exercise. This study is important because it might help us better understand how strength training can benefit younger individuals.
