ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how video testimonials from both patients and healthcare providers can help improve eye health knowledge and trust in the healthcare system among Latinx communities dealing with diabetes. Specifically, it focuses on diabetic retinopathy, a condition that can affect the eyes of people with diabetes. The researchers will gather information through an online survey with 1,500 participants and conduct four focus groups with 20 Latinx patients diagnosed with diabetes.
To be eligible for this study, participants must identify as Hispanic or Latino and have a diabetes diagnosis. Patients must be treated at specific health centers in Madison, Wisconsin, and clinicians must also work with diabetic patients in these centers. If you join the study, you can expect to share your experiences and thoughts on eye health, which will help researchers find better ways to educate the community. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to understand how video resources can empower patients and enhance their healthcare experience.
