ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at individuals who have lost one leg below the knee, known as transtibial amputees. The main goal is to compare the temperature of the knee area on both the amputated and the healthy leg. Researchers want to find out if there are differences in temperature between the two legs and if this temperature difference is related to any pain felt in the knee area of the leg that was amputated.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to have one leg amputated below the knee and should be able to walk using a prosthetic leg. They should not have had any recent knee surgeries. The study is currently recruiting people aged between 18 and 75. Participants can expect to have their knee temperatures measured and to answer questions about any pain they may experience. This research could help improve our understanding of how temperature and pain relate in amputated limbs, potentially leading to better care for individuals with similar conditions.
