ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how using certain medications to lower blood pressure during general anesthesia affects kidney health in patients undergoing jaw surgery. The researchers want to find out if this approach can lead to kidney injury, specifically a condition called acute kidney injury (AKI). By closely monitoring blood tests and urine throughout the surgery, they aim to identify early signs of possible kidney problems. Recognizing these signs quickly can help doctors take action to prevent any kidney damage and support a quicker recovery for patients after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult aged 18 and older who is classified as low to moderate risk for anesthesia and is having specific jaw surgery. However, certain health issues, like severe obesity, liver problems, or uncontrolled diabetes, may exclude you from participating. If you join the study, you can expect regular health checks before, during, and after your surgery to ensure your kidneys are functioning well. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to improve recovery for surgical patients.
