ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether a "Smart Water Bottle" can help college students drink more fluids. Many young adults don't drink enough water, which can lead to health issues like obesity and kidney problems. The Smart Water Bottle uses technology to track how much water you drink and sends reminders to encourage you to stay hydrated. Participants will also monitor simple signs of hydration, like the color of their urine and their level of thirst, to see if they are drinking enough fluids.

To join the study, participants need to be college students who currently drink less than the recommended amount of water (less than 2.5 liters per day for men and less than 2.0 liters for women). They must also have access to a smartphone to use the related app. Participants will receive the Smart Water Bottle and guidance on how to use it. However, people who are currently trying to change their weight, are pregnant, or have certain health conditions won't be eligible. This trial is a great opportunity for students to develop healthier habits while learning more about their hydration needs.
