ClinConnect Summary
The HOme-Based Self-management and COgnitive Training CHanges Lives (HOBSCOTCH) study is looking at how a program designed for people with epilepsy can be adapted to help those with Parkinson's Disease (PD). The main goal is to see if this program can improve the quality of life for people with PD, just like it has for people with epilepsy. Participants will join nine online sessions with a certified coach, where they will learn self-management strategies to cope with their symptoms. They will also fill out some questionnaires about their health and keep a daily diary to track their experiences.
To be eligible for the study, participants should be between 30 and 75 years old, have a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, and be able to read and write in English. They should also be comfortable using a phone or the internet. Participants will not be able to join if they have severe cognitive difficulties that prevent them from understanding the study, or if they cannot reliably access a phone or the internet. This study is a great opportunity for those looking to improve their daily lives with Parkinson's Disease through a supportive and structured program.
