ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to better understand and treat problems in the femoropopliteal artery, which is a long artery in the leg that can become narrowed or blocked due to a condition called peripheral artery disease. Researchers are using advanced imaging technology and artificial intelligence to differentiate between different types of plaque buildup in this artery, which can help doctors decide on the best treatment options. Currently, there isn't a reliable non-invasive method to identify these lesions before surgery, so this study aims to improve that by combining images from a special microscope scanner and standard CT scans.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults who are scheduled for a transfemoral amputation at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Strasbourg and who have already had a CT scan as part of their routine care. They also need to agree to take part in the study. Participants can expect to have their artery images analyzed using the new technology, which could help future patients receive better, more personalized treatment options. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to make significant advancements in how doctors understand and treat issues related to the femoropopliteal artery.
