ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying non-segmental vitiligo, a skin condition that causes white patches on the skin due to the loss of pigment-producing cells. The researchers want to understand the role of a specific protein called Cathepsin L in the blood and skin tissue of patients with this condition. The goal is to learn more about how vitiligo works and to see if this protein can be linked to the disease.
If you are 6 to 18 years old and have non-segmental vitiligo, you might be eligible to participate in this study. Healthy participants of the same age and sex will also be included as a comparison group. Participants will need to visit the dermatology clinic at Sohag University Hospital for evaluations, but they cannot have had certain treatments, be pregnant, or have other serious health conditions. This trial is currently not recruiting participants, so further details will be shared when it begins. It's an important step toward understanding vitiligo better, which could help improve future treatments.
