ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying two different surgical techniques to improve the tissue around dental implants. Specifically, it compares a method using a combination of a strip graft (a piece of gum tissue taken from elsewhere in the mouth) with a special matrix that helps tissue grow, against a method using only a free gingival graft (gum tissue taken from another part of the mouth). The goal is to see which method better increases the amount of keratinized mucosa, which is the tough gum tissue around the implant. This study will also look at how well blood flows to the areas involved in the grafting and other factors like tissue thickness and patient satisfaction.

To participate in this trial, patients need to be over 18 years old and have dental implants in the lower jaw that do not have enough keratinized mucosa (less than 2 mm). They should be in good overall health, without any major health issues, and should not be heavy smokers or using certain medications. If you join, you can expect to undergo a surgical procedure and will be monitored for recovery and results, contributing to important research that could improve future dental surgeries.
