ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether giving antibiotics before a urethral bulking procedure can help prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) that may occur afterward. Urethral bulking is a treatment for stress urinary incontinence, which is when a person leaks urine when they cough, laugh, or exercise. The researchers want to find out if taking these antibiotics can make a difference in reducing the risk of developing a UTI after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, women aged 18 and older who are scheduled for a urethral bulking procedure may be eligible. However, those with a history of recurrent UTIs, known urinary retention issues, allergies to certain antibiotics, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot join. If you decide to participate, you will likely receive antibiotics before your procedure and will be monitored for any infections afterward. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you're interested, it's a good idea to talk with your doctor for more information.
