ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Dynamics of AMR Spread, Persistence and Evolution Between Humans, Animals and Their Environment" is focused on understanding how antibiotic-resistant bacteria can spread between dogs and their owners. This study, named DYASPEO, aims to find out if people who live closely with dogs may be at risk of acquiring these resistant bacteria, which can make infections harder to treat.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult or a child who plans to live with a dog for at least three months after joining the study. All adults must give written consent, and at least one parent must consent for minors. Participants should also own a dog that is scheduled for surgery at a veterinary school. If you are interested, it's important to know that the trial is not currently recruiting participants, and only individuals who can communicate in French may be eligible. If you join, you’ll help researchers learn more about this important health issue, which could benefit both people and animals in the future.
