ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how to better recognize and help young people who might be struggling with alcohol and substance use. Researchers are using a special tool called the ASSIST mini-intervention, which is a simple online program designed to identify issues related to alcohol and drug use in adolescents who are visiting a psychiatric outpatient clinic. The goal is to see if this early intervention can make a difference in the lives of young people facing these challenges.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 11 and 18 years old and have been admitted to the adolescent psychiatric outpatient clinic at Kuopio University Hospital between 2016 and 2019. It's important that they can understand the questionnaires used in the study. If chosen to participate, young people will engage with the online program and may receive support based on their needs. This trial aims to provide valuable insights into how we can better support adolescents dealing with substance use issues.
