ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a mobile app game called Digital Vaccine for Type 1 Diabetes (DVx-T1D)™, designed to help children ages 6 to 12 who have Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The goal is to see if this fun, interactive game can encourage kids to make healthier food choices and be more active, ultimately helping them manage their diabetes better. Researchers will compare two groups of children: one group will use the app along with their usual diabetes care, while the other group will receive only standard care without the app. The trial will last for three months and involve around 80 children.
To participate, children must be between 6 and 12 years old, have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for at least a year, and currently use insulin. Parents or guardians must be over 18, live with the child, and reside in Allegheny County. Throughout the study, participants will be asked to complete some visits, track their food and activity, and doctors will check their diabetes control through blood tests. This trial aims to gather important information on how a game-based approach might improve diabetes management in kids.
