ClinConnect Summary
The FallFitness Fall Prevention Program is a clinical trial designed to help older adults avoid falls and improve their confidence in being active. This study will involve 100 participants aged 60 and older from a small area in middle Sweden. Half of the participants will take part in a special group exercise program aimed at preventing falls, while the other half will not participate in the program and will serve as a comparison group. The goal is to see how effective these exercises are and to gather feedback from both those leading the program and those participating in it.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 60 years old and should be able to speak and write in Swedish. However, individuals who are physically weak, have certain heart conditions, or have recently had cataract surgery are not eligible to join. Participants can expect to engage in group exercises that focus on balance and strength, which can help reduce the risk of falls. This study is currently looking for volunteers, so if you or someone you know fits the criteria and is interested, it could be a great opportunity to stay active and safe!
