ClinConnect Summary
The REACH Project is a research study aimed at changing how we think about the foods we give our children, especially highly processed foods. The study focuses on mothers of preschool-age children (ages 3 to 5) who are involved in a specific program called Head Start. These mothers will be randomly assigned to either a creative arts program or a traditional educational program to learn more about the effects of these processed foods on their children's health. The goal is to help them make better food choices and encourage healthier eating habits for their kids.
To participate in this study, mothers need to be English-speaking, African American, or bi-racial or multi-racial African American and Black, and at least 18 years old. Unfortunately, the study is not open to Spanish speakers or fathers. Participants can expect to engage in discussions and activities that will help them understand the impact of food marketing and make informed decisions about their children's diets. The study is currently recruiting participants, so it's a great opportunity for eligible mothers to contribute to important research that aims to promote healthier eating for children.
