ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well two different treatments work for children with acute bronchiolitis, which is a common respiratory infection caused by the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The researchers want to compare hypertonic saline, a type of salt water solution, with adrenaline, which is a medication that can help open the airways. The main goals are to see how much each treatment helps improve breathing and to find out how long children need to stay in the hospital.
To participate in this trial, children must be admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with a diagnosis of acute bronchiolitis. However, children with certain other health conditions, like heart problems or infections that affect the brain or lungs, cannot take part. If your child is eligible, they will receive one of the treatments and doctors will closely monitor their progress. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to provide important information that could help improve care for children with bronchiolitis in the future.
