ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to help urban refugee youth in Kampala, Uganda, improve their lives and health. The research focuses on a program called Creating Futures, which aims to support young people (ages 16-25) in developing skills for better livelihoods while also encouraging them to get tested for HIV. The trial will explore different ways of delivering HIV self-testing, including using mobile health tools and the Creating Futures program, to see which method helps more young people get tested and linked to care.
To participate in this trial, you must be living in one of five specific informal settlements in Kampala, identify as a displaced person or refugee, be between 16 and 25 years old, and have access to a mobile phone. Participants can expect to engage in group activities focused on building skills and receive support for HIV testing. This study is important because it aims to find effective ways to promote health and well-being among young refugees, addressing both their financial needs and health risks.
