ClinConnect Summary
The COSP-RBD Study is looking into the relationship between concussions, contact sports, and a condition called REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD). RBD can cause people to act out their dreams, and researchers want to find out how many people with RBD have had concussions or played contact sports compared to those without RBD. This study is important because it could help us understand if there’s a connection between these factors and RBD.
To participate, you need to be at least 50 years old and have either a diagnosis of RBD or be part of the control group that does not have RBD. Participants will meet with a sleep medicine specialist who will ask questions about any history of concussions and involvement in contact sports. The study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to gather important information that could lead to better understanding and treatment of RBD in the future. If you’re interested in how your experiences might contribute to this research, this could be a valuable opportunity.
