ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of two programs, iMentalize and MISC-SA, designed to help parents improve their understanding of their children's feelings and thoughts, which is known as "mentalization." The aim is to see if these programs can also benefit children's mental health. Families with children aged 6 to 18 years are eligible to participate, as long as at least one parent can speak Catalan and has completed a pre-intervention assessment.
Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: one group will use the iMentalize program, which involves watching and discussing cartoon shorts together; another group will follow the MISC-SA program, which uses video feedback of their own interactions; and the third group will receive standard reading and cognitive exercises as a comparison. Each program consists of online sessions over the course of a year. Researchers will compare the outcomes of all three groups to see which program is most effective in enhancing parents' mentalization skills and promoting children's mental health. If you decide to join, you can expect a supportive environment where you'll learn new ways to connect with your child and improve their well-being.
