ClinConnect Summary
The Singapore Youth Shoulder Overuse Injury Prevention Program (YoSO-IPP) is a study designed to help young volleyball players avoid injuries to their shoulders. This program includes two main parts: an exercise routine that aims to improve shoulder strength and movement, and an educational segment that teaches athletes about injury prevention. Over 12 weeks, researchers will compare the effects of these two parts on young athletes, measuring improvements in shoulder strength and flexibility, as well as how much they learn about preventing injuries.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between 12 and 18 years old, actively training in volleyball with the goal of competing, and not currently involved in any other shoulder injury prevention programs. If selected, participants can expect to take part in exercises and complete an online questionnaire to assess their knowledge about shoulder health. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to provide valuable insights to help young athletes protect their shoulders while enjoying their sport.
