ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how two types of exercises can help improve arm movement and reduce stiffness in stroke patients. It focuses on patients who have hemiplegia, which means they have weakness or paralysis on one side of their body after a stroke. The researchers want to see how open kinetic chain exercises (where the arms move freely) and closed kinetic chain exercises (where the arms are connected to a stable surface) affect the patients’ ability to move their arms and how stiff their muscles feel.
To participate, patients need to be diagnosed with a stroke and should have been in the recovery phase for at least three months. They must be able to sit unsupported and be willing to take part in the study. Before starting the exercises, participants will undergo a series of assessments to measure things like muscle stiffness and how well they can move their arms. After the exercises, these assessments will be repeated to see if there were any improvements. This study is important because it may help identify which type of exercise is more effective for helping stroke patients regain arm function.
