ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a special test called thromboelastography can help doctors monitor blood thinning treatments in patients who are on maintenance hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is a procedure that helps filter waste products from the blood when the kidneys are not working properly. The researchers want to see if certain measurements from this test can accurately show how well the blood is clotting during the hemodialysis process. They will study 200 stable patients who have been receiving hemodialysis for at least three months.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be over 18 years old and in stable health, meaning they are not dealing with serious illnesses like cancer or severe liver disease. They also need to understand the study and agree to participate by signing a consent form. If someone joins the study, they can expect to undergo the thromboelastography test, which will help researchers gather important information about blood clotting during their treatment. This study is currently recruiting participants and aims to improve care for patients on hemodialysis by better understanding how anticoagulation works in their treatment.
