ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of ear acupoint therapy to improve recovery for patients undergoing total knee replacement surgery, also known as total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The study aims to see if this therapy can help reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation after surgery, improve how well patients recover and manage their daily activities, enhance healing of the surgical scar, and reduce anxiety before and after the procedure. By combining this traditional Chinese medicine technique with standard care, the researchers hope to enhance overall patient outcomes.
To participate in this trial, individuals aged 50 to 80 who have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis and are scheduled for TKA may be eligible, as long as they have healthy ears and can commit to following the study guidelines. Participants will receive ear acupoint therapy along with their regular treatment, and their progress will be monitored throughout the recovery process. It's important to note that people with certain medical conditions or issues with their ears may not qualify for the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and those interested should discuss it with their healthcare provider to learn more.
