ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how Virtual Reality (VR) can help reduce anxiety in men who need to have a prostate biopsy while awake. During the procedure, participants will wear a VR headset that provides a calming visual experience and listen to soothing audio aimed at relaxation. The main goal is to see if this VR assistance can significantly lower anxiety levels compared to a group that does not use VR.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be men aged 65 to 74 who have been advised to undergo a prostate biopsy and can give their informed consent. However, those with allergies to local anesthesia, severe anxiety about tight spaces (claustrophobia), or serious issues with memory and understanding will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect a supportive environment while exploring the potential benefits of VR in managing anxiety during medical procedures.
