ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focusing on gathering information about robotic-assisted surgeries for men with prostate cancer. Prostate removal surgery is a common and effective way to treat this cancer, and many doctors are using robots to perform these surgeries because they can lead to fewer side effects and a quicker recovery for patients. However, there isn't enough data on the long-term results of these robotic surgeries, especially in Australia. This trial aims to create a large database that will collect information from hospitals in both city and rural areas to better understand how these surgeries work and to improve patient care.
To participate in the trial, men aged 18 to 90 with localized prostate cancer who agree to be part of the study and are receiving treatment at participating hospitals can join. Those who have not had robotic surgery or do not have a prostate cancer diagnosis are not eligible. Participants can expect to provide information about their health through questionnaires, which will help researchers learn more about the benefits and outcomes of robotic prostate surgeries. Ultimately, this study hopes to standardize practices across hospitals and enhance the quality of care for prostate cancer patients throughout Australia.
