ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how music therapy can help pregnant women who are at high risk of having a preterm birth. The researchers want to see if listening to music can improve the women's emotional well-being, decrease anxiety and stress, and enhance the bond between mother and baby. To do this, they will have three groups of participants: one group will receive music therapy, another group will receive standard care in the hospital, and a third group will include women with normal pregnancies for comparison.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be women over 18 years old who can understand Italian and are at risk of preterm birth. Those with certain mental health issues or who have difficulty understanding the language will not be included. After agreeing to participate, women will complete questionnaires about their feelings and experiences. The music therapy group will then take part in ten online sessions, while the other two groups will continue with their usual care. The study will check in with all participants three months after childbirth to assess the attachment bond with their babies. This trial aims to understand whether music therapy can make a difference for these mothers and their children.
