ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how effective a new type of needle, called an echogenic needle, is for blocking pain after surgery. Many people experience pain after surgery, and for some, this pain can last a long time. The trial aims to see if these special needles can help reduce both immediate and long-term pain compared to regular needles. By understanding this, researchers hope to improve pain management for patients undergoing various surgical procedures.

To participate in the trial, you need to be between 18 and 70 years old and have surgery on your chest, abdomen, or limbs. This must be your first surgery during your hospital stay, and you’ll need to agree to take part by signing a consent form. Unfortunately, if you have a history of drug or alcohol addiction, have chronic pain before the surgery, or have certain medical issues, you may not be eligible. If you join, you can expect to receive either the new echogenic needle or a standard needle during your surgery and help contribute to important research that could improve pain relief for future patients.
