ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to estimate a patient's weight using a 3D camera system in the Emergency Department. The main goal is to find out if this camera system gives more accurate weight estimates compared to traditional methods. Accurate weight estimates are important because they help doctors give the right amount of medication, especially for those who need intravenous (IV) drugs. Researchers will compare results from patients who receive weight estimates from the 3D camera to those who get standard care to see if there are fewer medication errors and any differences in side effects.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be patients in the Emergency Department who will need weight-based IV therapy and will be admitted to the hospital. However, patients who cannot provide consent or whose treatment might be negatively affected by joining the study will not be included. If you or a loved one are eligible and choose to participate, you can expect to have your weight estimated using both the 3D camera and standard methods, helping researchers learn more about which method works best for patient care.
