ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a surgical procedure called expansion palatoplasty to see how effective it is in treating adults with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). OSAS is a condition where a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep, which can lead to various health issues. The trial aims to find out if this surgery can help improve the symptoms and overall quality of life for patients suffering from this condition.
To participate in the trial, you need to be an adult with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 30, meaning you are not considered overweight. You should have mild to moderate OSAS and have specific issues with the throat area that can be seen during a special sleep examination. Unfortunately, some individuals may not qualify, such as those with more severe sleep apnea, certain health problems, or those who are pregnant. If you join the study, you can expect to receive the surgery and be monitored to track your progress and any changes in your sleep patterns. This is an important opportunity to help researchers understand more about treating sleep apnea effectively.
