ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a nutritional education program can help improve the health of patients with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing hemodialysis, a treatment that helps filter waste from the blood when the kidneys are not working properly. The goal is to see if teaching patients about healthy eating can lead to better quality of life and improve certain health measurements, like blood levels of important minerals (electrolytes).
To participate in this study, you need to be a hemodialysis patient, regardless of whether you have diabetes or high blood pressure, and you should be underweight. Unfortunately, if you are not currently on hemodialysis, have cancer, are under 18 or over 60, or do not wish to participate, you won’t be eligible. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but those who do join can expect to take part in evaluations before and after the nutritional program to track changes in their health.
