ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Coagulation Activation in Patients With Pemphigus," aims to study specific blood markers related to blood clotting in patients who have an active form of pemphigus, a skin disease that causes painful blisters. Researchers will look at the levels of two substances in the blood, called prothrombin F1+2 and d-dimer, to see how they compare with healthy people of similar age and gender. They will also check if these blood markers relate to how severe the pemphigus is, using a scoring system called the Pemphigus Disease Area Index (PDAI), and by measuring certain antibodies associated with the disease.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 18 and 60 years old and currently experiencing active pemphigus vulgaris, which is a specific type of pemphigus. However, those with other skin diseases, other autoimmune conditions, or serious health issues like liver or kidney disease, as well as those with cancer, will not be eligible. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, joining could help improve understanding of how pemphigus affects blood clotting and potentially lead to better treatments in the future.
