ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how education and reminder messages can affect fatigue levels in individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). COPD is a lung condition that makes it hard to breathe and often leads to feelings of tiredness or fatigue. The researchers want to find out if providing patients with information about COPD and ways to manage fatigue, along with sending motivational text messages, can help reduce their fatigue over an 8-week period. Participants will be divided into three groups: one group will receive both the education and messages, another will receive only the education, and the third group will not receive any extra training.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be between 65 and 85 years old, have been diagnosed with COPD for at least a year, and have recently been hospitalized for at least three days. Those with certain health conditions, like severe heart failure or chronic fatigue syndrome, will not be eligible. Throughout the study, participants will share their experiences, and the researchers will compare the effects of the different approaches on their fatigue, breathing difficulties, and overall health. This study aims to help improve the quality of life for individuals living with COPD by finding effective ways to manage fatigue.
