ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a topical drug called clascoterone to see if it can help improve symptoms in people with pilonidal disease, a common skin condition that occurs in the fold of the buttocks. The researchers want to find out if clascoterone can reduce the severity of the disease, help relieve patients' symptoms, and decrease inflammation in the affected area. Participants in the study will apply either the clascoterone cream or a placebo (a cream with no active ingredients) to the affected area for three months. Throughout the study, they will be monitored every four weeks by healthcare providers who will evaluate their condition through photographs and symptom surveys.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with pilonidal disease. They must be able to apply the cream themselves and commit to following the study procedures. However, people who are currently using other creams in the area, have an abscess, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have had recent illnesses or treatments with other investigational drugs cannot participate. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it's a great opportunity for patients to explore a potential new treatment for their condition.
