ClinConnect Summary

The Xanthohumol and Viral Infections (XL) trial is studying whether taking a supplement called xanthohumol can help reduce the severity and duration of symptoms caused by viral infections. This trial is currently looking for healthy participants aged between 65 and 74 or between 25 and 66 years old. To join the study, you need to have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 28, which is a measure of a healthy weight.

If you decide to participate, you will take this supplement regularly and then be monitored to see how it affects your health during viral infections. It's important to note that some individuals cannot join the study, such as those with food allergies, chronic diseases, recent infections, or those taking certain medications that weaken the immune system. This trial aims to find out more about xanthohumol and its potential benefits, and your participation could contribute to valuable research in this area.
