ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how surgery for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (a condition that affects the lungs and causes high blood pressure) impacts patients’ physical abilities and lung function after the surgery. Specifically, researchers want to see how physical performance, lung capacity, and muscle strength change in patients who have undergone a procedure called pulmonary endarterectomy (PET), which helps improve blood flow in the lungs.

To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for elective pulmonary endarterectomy surgery. They should not have any cognitive issues or significant motor problems that would prevent them from completing tests about their physical abilities before and after the surgery. Participants will be monitored for changes in their physical and lung health during their recovery. This research aims to help doctors understand how to better support patients’ recovery and improve their quality of life after surgery.
