ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying sepsis, a serious condition that happens when the body has a severe reaction to an infection, leading to organ failure. The researchers are particularly interested in understanding how different biological factors, called molecular endotypes, affect the health of patients with sepsis. By classifying patients into these endotypes, they hope to identify who might have a worse outlook and how to provide better treatment. Currently, there are no specific drugs approved for sepsis, so this study aims to find out if understanding these endotypes can help improve patient care.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have an acute respiratory infection, such as pneumonia, either from being in the community or in a hospital. However, those who are pregnant, in prison, or have certain types of pneumonia are not eligible. Participants in the study can expect to undergo various assessments that will help researchers learn more about how their specific type of sepsis impacts their health and treatment options. This trial is actively recruiting participants and welcomes all genders.
