ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the best way to treat patients who have been stung by scorpions. Researchers want to find out if using scorpion antivenom alone is as effective as using a combination of scorpion antivenom and another medication called prazosin. The trial will take place at Sohag University Hospitals, and it is currently looking for participants.
To be eligible for the study, participants must have a confirmed diagnosis of a scorpion sting and be admitted to the hospital between February 2023 and July 2024. Both adults and children (with consent from a parent or guardian) can join the trial. Participants will receive either the antivenom alone or the antivenom with prazosin, along with standard first aid and supportive care. The aim is to understand which treatment works better for recovery after a scorpion sting. If you or someone you know has been stung by a scorpion and is interested in participating, please speak to a healthcare provider for more information.
