ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring two different ways to stitch surgical wounds on the head and face to see which method leads to less scarring. The traditional method, called standard running sutures, uses a single thread to create a series of stitches along the wound. The study is comparing this to a newer technique called running locking sutures, which may help improve how the skin heals and reduce complications. In the trial, half of the wound will be closed with the standard method, and the other half with the locking method.
To be eligible to participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old, able to give consent, and scheduled for a surgical procedure on the head or neck that will be closed primarily with stitches. Participants should also be willing to return for follow-up visits. Those who are pregnant, under 18, or have certain other conditions may not qualify. If you join the study, you can expect to receive care from medical professionals while helping researchers learn more about how to improve surgical outcomes and minimize scarring.
