ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the trauma from the recent earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, affects nurses working in emergency services. Specifically, it looks at a condition called compassion fatigue, which is when caregivers become less able to empathize with others after experiencing repeated traumatic events. Since these nurses have been directly involved in caring for many earthquake victims, the study aims to understand how the trauma from the earthquakes impacts their emotional well-being and ability to provide care.
To participate in this study, nurses must work in an emergency department of a hospital that was affected by the earthquakes and have at least one year of experience in that role. They should not have any psychiatric illnesses or be on medications that could affect their stress levels. This study is important because it seeks to gain insights into the psychological challenges faced by healthcare professionals after disasters, which can help improve support for nurses in the future. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and contribute to a better understanding of the mental health impacts on those who care for disaster victims.
