ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how drinking a special carbohydrate solution before surgery affects patients' comfort and recovery. The researchers want to see if this solution, made with ginger and melissa, can help reduce feelings of anxiety, nausea, and vomiting after surgery while also improving how quickly the stomach empties. This trial is particularly important because many patients currently have to fast for a long time before surgery, which can be uncomfortable.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be between the ages of 18 and 65 and scheduled for a specific type of surgery called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is done under general anesthesia. They should be in good health, as classified by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classes I or II. Participants will drink the carbohydrate solution two hours before their surgery and will be monitored for various outcomes, including their anxiety levels and recovery from anesthesia. This study aims to find better ways to prepare patients for surgery, making the experience more comfortable for everyone involved.
