ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating whether injecting a special treatment made from a person's own blood, combined with a substance that helps keep tissues moist, can improve the sense of smell in people who have lost it due to head injuries. This loss of smell, known as anosmia, can be quite distressing, and the researchers want to see if this new method can help restore it.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have had a loss of smell for more than six months after experiencing a head injury. Unfortunately, certain individuals, including pregnant women, those with specific health issues, or a history of certain types of cancer, will not be eligible to join. If you qualify and choose to participate, you'll receive the nasal injection as part of the trial, and researchers will monitor your progress to see if your sense of smell improves. This study is currently not recruiting participants, but it represents an important step in finding new treatments for those affected by traumatic olfactory dysfunction.
