ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how changes in peak airway pressure (PAP) during surgery affect breathing and lung function after a specific type of surgery called muscle plication, which is often part of an abdominoplasty (a procedure to remove excess skin from the abdomen). The focus is on patients who have a condition known as abdominal compartment syndrome, and the goal is to see if the way the lungs respond during surgery impacts recovery after the operation.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 20 and 50 years old and in good overall health, as classified by a doctor. They should be scheduled for an abdominoplasty that includes muscle plication. However, those with certain health issues, such as low hemoglobin levels, bleeding problems, heart conditions, or specific lung diseases, will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you will be monitored during and after your surgery to understand how the changes in airway pressure affect your lung function as you recover.
