ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is examining how the timing of retainer delivery affects the movement of teeth after orthodontic treatment. Specifically, it compares the results of giving a retainer immediately after braces are removed versus waiting a week before providing the retainer. The goal is to see if there are differences in how well the teeth stay in their new positions over a six-month period.
To participate in this study, you must be between the ages of 16 and 74 and have had braces that required some teeth to be extracted. You should have good oral hygiene and follow your orthodontist's instructions for wearing the retainer. If you have certain conditions, like joint disorders or systemic diseases that affect your bone growth, you won't be eligible. Participants will need to commit to regular follow-ups during the study period, and they will be monitored for any changes in their teeth and bone health. This trial aims to provide better evidence on the best practices for retainers, helping future patients maintain their orthodontic results effectively.
