ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different positions of the spine affect the effectiveness of spinal anesthesia during hip fracture surgery. Spinal anesthesia is a way to numb the lower part of the body so that patients don’t feel pain during surgery. The researchers want to see if bending the spine in different ways can improve how well the anesthesia works on one side of the body.
To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 85 years old, have a hip fracture, and have certain health scores that indicate you are in stable condition (specifically, an ASA score of 1, 2, or 3). You would not be eligible if you have serious heart issues, severe obesity, or certain other medical conditions. If you join the trial, you can expect to be assigned to one of the two positions being studied during your surgery. The trial is still in the planning stages and has not started recruiting participants yet.
