ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset and/or aromatherapy can help reduce pain, anxiety, and embarrassment for men undergoing a transperineal prostate biopsy, a procedure used to collect tissue samples from the prostate. The study compares the experiences of participants who use VR, those who experience aromatherapy, those who use both, and a control group receiving standard care. Researchers want to understand how these methods affect feelings of pain, fear, and embarrassment during and after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, men aged 18 and older who are scheduled for a transperineal prostate biopsy can consider joining. However, those with certain conditions, such as severe mental health issues, significant hearing or vision problems, a history of seizures, or bad reactions to strong smells, may not be eligible. Participants can expect to be part of a supportive environment where their experiences with pain and anxiety will be monitored, helping to find better ways to make this procedure more comfortable.
