ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of providing pain relief after a specific kidney surgery called laparoscopic nephrectomy, which involves removing a kidney using small incisions. The two methods being compared are called the Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) and the Quadratus Lumborum Block (QLB). Both techniques involve injecting a local anesthetic to help reduce pain after surgery, but they do so in slightly different ways. The goal is to see which method works better for controlling pain after the procedure.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between the ages of 18 and 75, scheduled for a living donor laparoscopic nephrectomy, and classified as having low to moderate health risks. However, people with certain conditions, such as bleeding disorders, allergies to anesthetics, or who are pregnant, cannot participate. Those who join the trial can expect to receive either the ESPB or QLB before their surgery and will be monitored for how well each method helps with pain management afterwards. This research aims to improve pain relief options for patients undergoing this type of kidney surgery.
