ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to improve the healthfulness of food choices made by clients at food pantries. Specifically, it will test a program called Supporting Wellness at Pantries (SWAP), which uses a traffic light labeling system to help people choose healthier foods. The trial will involve 30 food pantries connected to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Some pantries will receive support to implement the SWAP program, while others will not. Researchers will check how well the program works at 6 and 12 months by comparing the pantries that participated in the program to those that did not.
To participate, food pantries must be part of the Greater Boston Food Bank, allow clients to choose their own food, and be within about an hour's drive of Boston. Clients at these pantries who want to take part in the study need to be at least 18 years old and speak either English or Spanish. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help make healthy food choices easier for those who rely on food pantries.
