ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a virtual reality gaming program can help children recovering from cancer. The program focuses on mindfulness, which means being aware of the present and managing stress, as well as physical exercise. Over 8 weeks, participants will either start the program right away while they are still in the hospital or wait until they are discharged to begin.
To join the study, children must be over 7 years old and have a medical condition that requires a special treatment called a stem cell transplant. They also need to have a caregiver who can help them with the study. Unfortunately, children who are completely blind or deaf, cannot use the game's controllers, get sick easily with virtual reality, or cannot speak English won’t be able to participate. This trial is currently recruiting, and it's an exciting opportunity for young patients to engage in fun activities that may support their recovery.
