ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a special monitoring tool called the Nociception Index Level (NOL) can help manage pain during orthopedic surgeries of the upper limb when using regional anesthesia. Regional anesthesia is a method where only a specific area of the body is numbed, allowing patients to remain awake while having surgery. The trial includes 50 adult patients who are scheduled for such surgeries and will involve monitoring their pain levels during the procedure using different methods, including the NOL index and other pain scales.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults (18 years or older) scheduled for upper limb orthopedic surgery using regional anesthesia. Patients who are having emergency surgeries, refuse the anesthesia, or have certain chronic brain-related conditions cannot participate. If you join the trial, you can expect close monitoring of your pain levels during surgery, which may help improve pain management techniques in the future. This study is currently recruiting participants, and all genders are welcome to apply.
